I started shooting the exploding barrels. And then there were no enemies left and it wasn't over. The thing was, after like two turns I cleared the entire map of enemies while the objective said "defeat all enemies". It's the one for Erina, Haru, and Toshiro, letting you pick a fourth person to bring. Although it was somewhat cheesable with a Persona that increases knockback distance, but was still cool nonetheless. I'm surprised they hadn't had any other maps with an objective involving kicking an object like that to a goal or something. The second one with Ryuji, Ann, and Yusuke was somewhat interesting. The first one that gave you Joker, Morgana, and Makoto's ultimate skill was actually pretty interesting! I think it was the best of the three and I've really enjoyed these One More based puzzle maps. Something that really made me have that feeling was Toshiro's Persona being Ernesto, aka "Che Guevara". Like I said, hopefully the game proves me wrong, but I fear it's settling in this direction. I get that same vibe from this whole thing about Toshiro and Eri vs the vice principal. Then as the game pivots to different timelines, one of them is where the Vox are successful and the game basically says "See! The people fighting to not be enslaved are just as bad as the people that enslaved them in the first place!" They tried to paint Daisy, the Vox leader, as a villain somehow, but even back then I found it very weird. If you don't know, basically there's a group of rebels, the Vox Populi, in the sky city of Columbia that are fighting against it because they don't want to be enslaved. This reeks of big BioShock Infinite energy. Coming to terms with all the people who's lives he ruined? And somehow we're blaming Toshiro for getting Eri injured instead of, you know, the dude that fucking pushed her? Why exactly is calling the VP on his shit behavior bad somehow? So he cracked under pressure because he couldn't handle. As they talk about this, they seem to have this attitude of "We don't regret what we did, but maybe it was bad actually and somehow getting everyone to come forward with their grievances against the VP is somehow just as bad as the VP blackmailing everyone in the first place." Even in the present they STILL take that attitude. As he has gone nuts, he ends up pushing Eri in front of the train and I initially assumed it killed her, but I guess not. The students coming forward with all their valid accusations causes him to crack under pressure because he realizes he's pretty fucked. The music didnt reach main game/Strikers level but there was absolutely some bangers in there.Īs they tell the story about Toshiro's time in high school with Eri, and how the Vice Principal was blackmailing the students and even teachers, it takes a turn where they turn the whole school against the vice principal. But yeah, seeing the thieves again for presumably the last time (at least, as the main characters) was great, I love this cast. I expected the game to be mostly PT fan service much like Strikers, but the story being more about the new characters was welcome. Narratively, I was very surprised, in a good way. The gameplay was simple but slick, and the puzzle elements were, at least for me, enjoyable, though some stages definitely took the piss by not having a proper overhead view option. That being said, overall, really enjoyed it. Oh and I really liked the final boss, really fun fight. Tbh the story felt like it pretty much ended after the awakening, wouldn't have minded if they just put the final boss right afterwards. would've been more fun to just dump weaker versions of them on one single map or something, but redoing harder versions of them with the underlying mechanics being the same was lame. Felt really pointlessly dragged out, could've done without those repeat bossfights in particular.
